Cau Do River Bridge

I was part of a security detachment for a time at the Cau Do River Bridge. This bridge is on highway just south of Danang. On both sides of the bridge there were observation towers and French built bunkers. The bridge we guarded was built by the Marines in 1970 and is still used today. The old bridge is till in use but they are building a new bridge. The French bunkers are still there. We tried to get into the one on the north side but it had been used as an outhouse. Denny and I found graffiti at the entrance to the south bunker. Denny was the brave one to climb into the bunker. It was full of graffiti left by Marines during the war. How cool.
